Jersey dresses - Abiti in jersey
I made a couple of dresses from jersey remnants for Emma.
I tried a "smart" strategy to use in the best way some jersey fabric I had around, so the pieces were cut according the fabric I had.
Ho fatto un paio di abiti in jersey per Emma.
Ho cercato di utilizzare dei pezzi tagliati in modo "strano" che avevo in giro quindi, ho ritagliato i pezzi a seconda quello che avevo a disposizione.
The one on the left comes from the very last piece of this sort of "Lacoste" jersey in salmon pink I got years ago. I got tons of it because was for the shop, it was very unlucky in the shop though so I've been using it for us. Yes. I'm ashamed, me and the girls got sort of salmon pink uniforms every summer for at least the last 4 years haha... but you can't say it is not pretty, please! I don't understand why it didn't get any success in the shop, probably the styles I offered (?). Well, this is the very last I will ever made because it's all spent.
Il primo a sinistra l'ho fatto dall'ultimissimo pezzo di un jersey stile "Lacoste" in colore salmone che avevo preso tanto tempo fa. Come quantità ne avevo un bel po' perché l'avevo presso per la mia attività, purtroppo non è andata bene. Non saprei, il materiale era molto bello ma probabilmente ho scelto dei modelli sbagliati per proporlo ai clienti... boh. Comunque con questo abito l'ho finito. Basta. Non avremo più divise estive in colore salmone nel futuro hehe...
The one on the right is a hotchpotch style, I get inspired from Boden. Yes. I love Boden.
It's all made from bi-elastic jersey, luckily I was patient enough to gather all the jersey with the same density from almost the same producer. I worked as an ant. When making things for us I'm not like that all the time. But I'm trying to be a more conscious ant everyday.
Quello a destra invece è in stile "hotchpotch", cioè, scombinato. Per queste cose mi ispiro da Boden. Boden mi piace un sacco.
L'ho fatto in jersey bi-elastico e guardate un po', tra tutta la mia roba, sono stata super paziente a radunare tutti i pezzi, cercandoli della stessa densità e pure dello stesso produttore! A volte quando faccio le cose per noi non sono così accurata, faccio le cose bene, ma sempre di fretta. Ultimamente sto cercando di vedere noi come "i miei clienti".

I modified it a bit. Here you see the original and my modified pieces on top. Yes guys, I did this fast, I would love to have the ability to patiently generate tutorials and hacks tips but I can't help myself about it. Probably in my 60's I will grow up enough to teach. I'm not there yet, sorry.
But here Kristi from SweetKM shows you how, she's great!
Per il top ho usato il cartamodello School bus T-shirt pattern by Oliver+S. Taglia 8. Ma qualsiasi cartamodello di maglietta andrebbe bene.
L'ho modificato un po'. Qui sotto vedete l'originale e i miei pezzi sovrapposti. Ok sì, l'ho fatto veloce e vorrei avere l'abilità e pazienza di partorire tutorial e idee per la modifica dei cartamodelli ma purtroppo non ce la faccio. Non sono brava. Probabilmente quando arriverò alla sessantina sarò una maestra sarta stupenda. Non sono ancora li' però ;)
Ma qui Kristi di SweetKM vi insegna come. Lei è bravissima!
For the skirt I didn't cut the usual rectangles but 2 trapeze shaped pieces. I like more that way than the usual bulky rectangles. I gathered the skirt with little pleats instead the usual gathering technique.
Per la gonna non ho tagliato i soliti rettangoloni - a parte perché non avevo stoffa abbastanza haha - ma 2 trapezi. Mi piace più così, fa meno volume nella parte alta e non impazzisco arricciando il jersey. Poi alla fine non l'ho neanche arricciato ma l'ho plissettato.
Now they are ready to wear and I see they will be heavily worn!
E ora sono pronti!
