Summer dresses / Abiti estivi

If going through the pages of this blog I think you already know I love dresses.

Maybe because trousers are always hard to fit on me so I keep on the dress side, or maybe because I'm lazy and not the best putting an outfit together, I just grab a dress and I'm dressed ;)
Forse perchè trovare pantaloni che mi vadano bene è difficile oppure perchè sono pigrissima e non molto brava negli abbinamenti che preferisco un'abito, una volta indossato, sono già vestita ;)

This year I've been trying to "slim down" my fabric leftovers.
I'm plenty of them because the seamstress job I do.
Quest'anno sto cercando di eliminare tutti i miei avanzi di stoffa. 
Con il mio lavoro da sarta ne ho parecchi.

For spring I made myself 4 tunic dresses I've been wearing a lot. They are made to dress myself in my everyday adventures with running a dressmaker biz, 2 kids, running errands and house chores (I hate the last but I I'm the one on charge).
Per questa primavera mi sono fatta 4 abiti/tuniche che indosso molto spesso. Sono fati proprio pensati a me, quindi sono pieni di tasche grandi e mi bastano 2 cose che sono già vestita. 

For these dresses I worked with my linen leftovers, which were medium to large pieces but not enough to  have whole garment made from each piece of fabric.
Take count I'm a small person and wear small size or even 14 years kids size fits on me so I didn't need a large amount of material.
Per questi abiti ho usato alcuni pezzi avanzati di lino. Tenete conto che sono una donna piccola, taglia S e che a volte anche la taglia 14 anni ragazza mi va quindi non ho bisogno di grandi quantità di materiale. 

For dresses 1 and 3 I used a pattern of mine, it started as a boat neck top with 3/4 sleeves, it features bust darts and goes down A line. When I got to know Lotta Jansdotter's Esme top/dress/kaftan, I found them very similar, what changes between both patterns are bust darts, mine are plain while Esme top/dress has more formfitting french bust darts.
Per gli abiti 1 e 3 ho usato un cartamodello mio, è stato pensato come un top con scollo a barchetta e maniche 3/4, e... bust darts (scusate ma non so come si dice in italiano).
Quando ho visto l'Esme top/dress/kaftan di Lotta Jansdotter l'ho trovato molto simile al mio modello, la differenza sono le "bust darts", nel mio sono quelle normali e nel modello della Jansdotter sono molto quelle chiamate "french bust darts".

Dress 4 was made from a hand free drawing form the previous top, keeping boat neck but changing everything else as sleeves for a sort of kimono sleeve and taking off darts. It comes out a very common shape you can find in several patterns around.
L'abito no. 4 è un disegno a mano libera preso dal cartamodello dell'1 e del tre. Ho tenuto lo scollo a barchetta e poi ho disegnato a mano quelle maniche a kimono, ho tolto le "bust darts" e basta. È venuto un modello che si trova molto spesso tra i cartamodelli recenti. 

Dress 2 is a Scout tee long as a short dress.
L'abito no. 2 è una Scout tee lunga come un vestito corto.

As my fabric left overs got smaller, I went on the girls side.
Siccome i miei avanzi selezionati diventavano sempre più piccoli, mi sono dedicata alle bambine.

Last year I made a couple of dresses for my youngest girl, they were so cute and so handy I thought someone else would like to have one for her own kid. You can see one of them in this post - the one in green with elephants print-. I never posted the yellow one below and it is my favorite.
L'anno scorso ho fatto un paio di abiti per la mia figlia piccola, sono così carini e facili da indossare che ho pensato potevano servire ad altre mamme con bimbe della stessa età. Uno lo potete vedere in questo post -quello in verde con elefantini bianchi-. Non ho mai scritto niente su questo qui sotto, che è il mio preferito.

They fit size 18-24 months and could fit as a top on size 24-30 months. They are available in my shop here, if looking for summer dresses in this size, I can assure you this model is the best. Easy and comfy to wear. The best part is they can be layered with onesies or leggings in case weather gets cooler. I think they are cute : )
Sono taglia 18-24 mesi e possono durare fino alla taglia 24-30 mesi se indossati come top. Sono disponibili e pronti per la spedizione nel mio shop, li trovate qui. Vi posso garantire che questo modellino è il massimo. È molto facile da indossare, fresco e molto comfortevole. La parte migliore è che si può abbinare a body/magliette/leggings in caso di temperature non caldissime.

Thanks to my beloved customers I came out with more of these dreeses in larger sizes, as 4 years, 6 years and even a woman size S!
Grazie alle mie amate clienti ho avuto occasione di fare questo vestito in tante taglie diverse, come 4 e 6 anni, ho fatto pure uno in taglia S da donna!

Recently I was asked to make the smallest version I've made so far from this dress, a set for a couple of twins! These below are size 6 months. 

Di recente mi hanno chiesto di fare anche una versione mini per un paio di gemelline! Questi sono taglia 6 mesi. 

I find amazing how one dress style can dress all women, all ages, all sizes!

Sono felice di aver fatto un modello di abito che veste tutte le donne di tutte le età!
