How to make a Winx costume - Come fare un costume da Winx.

This is a belated post because is about my oldest girl carnival costume.

Mia figlia grande è una gran fan delle Winx, se stai leggendo in italiano, sicuramente conosci le Winx!

It wasn't easy to find a nice Winx costume interpretation around. Most you find are ugly or cool but for grown ups cosplayers. 

Trovare un vestido da Winx "carino" è stata dura. I costumi da bambina sono bruttissimi oppure si trovano delle cose molto belle ma da cosplayer adulta. 

We finally found this one and we both, mother and kid, were agree it was a good option even it is an Aysha costume and it is not the one for Bloom (the main character in the Winx series). 

I imitated the costume I found on Pinterest. I used very cheap polyester fabrics for the whole thing, I spent like 15 euros for all the materials (including thread, zipper and everything), the fanciest was the lining since it is made from Bemberg rayon in white. 

Abbiamo trovato questo dopo ore di ricerca ed è piaciuto anche a lei anche se non era un vestito da Bloom ma da Aysha. 

Ho imitato un po' il costume del link, per realizzarlo ho speso poco, circa 15 euro, inclusi tutti i materiali, il materiale più costoso è stata la fodera perchè è un bel Bemberg bianco (almeno che il vestito alla fine avesse una fodera decente).

I used the First Day dress pattern by Dana Made it. 

As you can see I made a heavy intervention to the original pattern. 

I think you can use several patterns you find online for making something like this, some of them are the Tinny dress by Straigh Grain, the Blake dress by Mingo&Grace, the Ileana dress from Compagnie M would work fine too. 

Come base ho  usato il cartamodello del First Day dress pattern di Dana Made it. 

Ho fatto degli interventi un po' pesanti al cartamodello, ma visto la semplicità del originale è molto facile intervenire e fare reinterpretazioni. 

Molti altri cartamodelli in giro si possono utilizzare per un costumino da fata (en anche da principessa), tipo il Tinny dress di Straigh Grain, il Blake dress di Mingo&Grace, l' Ileana dress di Compagnie M 

The fairy wings were my favorite part.

I made them from synthetic felt, 2 leyers attached with a foam rubber layer in between.

For attaching the wings to the dress I used this clever velcro system I found in a fairy dress from a Disney store we already have. 

Il mio pezzo preferito del costume sono le ali. 

Le ho fatte con 2 strati di panno lenci con dentro della gomma piuma sottile. 

Per attaccare le ali al vestito ho usato un sistema che avevo visto in un abito da fata della Disney che abbiamo a casa, che ha le ali staccabili con il velcro. Favoloso. 

It was fun to make this little costume. My kid loves it and wears it often! : )

Mi sono divertita a fare questo costumino. La mia figlia d'adora e l'indossa molto speso! : )
